Heroes are Overrated

Hi! Just watched the Dark Knight so...

Heroes are Overrated

Having watched The Dark Knight last night and then got a bit drunk last night(just a bit, unlike that blockbuster grad ball night), I got a good idea for a blog. And by the way, I was inspired by the movie.

You see, we all want to play the heroes because this is our story. This is our life and we definitely wish to be the hero, but really, that's not it.

To be a hero, or the hero requires us to save the asses of people. It's not just saving lives, but saving people from embarrassments and whatever you can save them from. Heroes are not amazing. Being one is all about being a role model to your people or your society, projecting the good qualities and traits, and whatever the result of your actions, people would still look at you as the hero.

This is not remarkable, because what happens is that the means justify the end. Doing the thing that is right in the eyes of society does not always give way to the much needed end.

There will be moments that we should just let the end speak for the means.

Bruce Wayne did not always do the right thing in the eyes of the people, proved by them saying the Batman should just take off his mask and turn himself in.

And what happened? He ended up saving their asses. He invaded the privacy of the people through the use of an enhanced sonar, that was a wrong thing, but hey, he couldn't have saved the people of Gotham without it.

Basically, doing the right thing does not always yield the needed results.

We have to do what the world needs us to do. We have to be what the world needs us to be.

The people do not always know what is good for them. All they do is cheer or boo what a single person does, clueless of the results.

Let the end justify the means. Let's play the role of Dark Knight, let us be what the people around us need us to be, not what they want us to be. The desire of the masses is not always right.

So if you have to look dumb in front of an audience and have the production crew shout at you, do it if you know if it will save the lame act and you'll get the audience into it.

Truth be told, heroes are overrated. They couldn't avoid that their images be destroyed. Heroes are mere puppets of the masses.

Be a Knight, and you act on your own, not caring about what people say, but the finale will always be something deserving of a standing ovation.
